Ryan Vondell From Eden, NY Is This Week’s Hometown Hero!

It’s time once again for our Hometown Hero, brought to you by Batavia Downs Gaming with help from our friends at WNY Heroes who help us with our nominations every week.  This week, our Hometown Hero from Eden, NY is United States Army MP Ryan Vondell!

Ryan’s nomination came from his sister and she says:

My brother Ryan has always been a country guy.  He worked on the farm until his 18 birthday and signed up for the army right after. He was still in high school but the week after he graduated he was off to boot camp. He married his high school sweetheart right after boot camp. After his first deployment they had a baby. He doesn't get to see them as much but we make the best out of it with FaceTime.

My brother just received an award for saving another soldiers life with his drug dog, Kelly. Ryan had to carry the solider on his back up to get help. The soldier lived. Ryan has always been someone to look up to.
