The first game of Ted Nolan's return as head coach of the Buffalo Sabres is the only game the Sabres have won so far. They've lost three in a row since then, including Thursday night's 4-1 loss at Philadelphia.

Just like the loss to St. Louis on Tuesday night, the Sabres scored first, but the Flyers kept pounding away, took over the game and won.

It's going to take more than coaching for this team to succeed. One thing they need to do in a hurry is to cut down on the penalties. It was a steady parade to the penalty box for the Sabres, twice giving the Flyers a two-man advantage, and that's where the Flyers took control.

An interesting fact: While the Sabres continue to struggle scoring goals, some former Sabres are doing well. Let's look at their goal output:

Jason Pominville 13
Brad Boyes 8
Derek Roy 6
Nathan Gerbe 5
Clarke MacArthur 4
Andrej Sekera 4
Zack Kassian 4
Brian Campbell 3
Danius Zubrus 3
Paul Gaustad 3
Daniel Briere 3
Danielle Paille 3
Total = 59

Sabres total goals = 43

The Sabres are back home for three in a row. They host Detroit Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m.
