Sabres Dominate Game But Lose
They've had so many poor games this season and losses they deserved, but Thursday night in New Jersey was a tough one to swallow for the Sabres. For 53 minutes they put in a solid game, especially on defense while building a 2-0 lead. Then it all fell apart when Christian Ehrhoff took a penalty. The Devils scored on the power play, then scored again with a minute left forcing overtime, then a shootout and that's where the Devils won it for a 3-2 victory.Jonas Enroth got the start in goal for the Sabres for the first time in a month but was injured on the tying goal and had to be replaced by Ryan Miller. Enroth limped to the locker room with what looked like a right ankle injury.
Thomas Vanek and rookie Bryan Flynn had the Buffalo goals - for Flynn his first goal in the NHL.
The Sabres complete their road trip Sunday in Philadelphia.
