Chalk up a sixth straight loss for the Buffalo Sabres, but they may have found a goaltender.  6-foot-5 Nathan Lieuwen was called up to the Sabres on an emergency basis when Michael Neuvirth was unable to go, then in the second period Jonas Enroth was forced to leave the game with an injury, so Lieuwen made his NHL debut and did well. Lieuwen stopped all 10 shots he faced the rest of the way, but once again the Sabres never got any offense going and fell 2-0.  It's the ninth time this season the Sabres have been shut out.

The Sabres have scored just five goals during the 6-game skid.  They play the next five games on the road beginning Tuesday night in Calgary.
