After poor efforts in Vegas and San Jose, the Buffalo Sabres rebounded with a 5-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday for their first win at the Staples Center in 15 years.  Jeff Skinner led the way with his first hat trick as a Sabre and fifth of his career while goaltender Linus Ulmark stopped 19 shots for his second win in two starts.

Jason Pominville playing on a line with Skinner and Jack Eichel opened the scoring halfway thru the first period, then Skinner scored a pair in the second period followed with his first of the season to put the Sabres up 4-0 at the end of two periods.

From there it was a matter of playing good defense and limiting the Kings' chances.  Skinner completed his hat trick into an empty net in the final minute.

Eichel finished with 3 assists.  In addition to his goal, Pominville had a pair of assists.

The Sabres complete their western road trip Sunday night against the Anaheim Ducks.
