Tickets for Buffalo Sabres season tickets will be increasing from $2.00 to $8.00 a game for next season.  It will increase the average price to $53.00 per ticket, well below the NHL average of $75.00 a ticket.  The Sabres say the team has ranked in the bottom five among all NHL teams for ticket prices over the past five years.

Season ticket holders will receive their renewal packages within the next week.

The Sabres also say they'll make a little over 200 additional season tickets available to fans who want them.  Currently the Sabres have a waiting list of nearly 2800 names for available season tickets.

A big change the Sabres have announced is to the smoking policy at First Niagara Center.  Smoking will not be allowed anywhere on the grounds of First Niagara Center during games or events.  Previously, smokers were allowed to step outside between periods of games.  The Sabres say First Niagara Center will be a smoke-free facility, a reflection of a national trend at sports arenas and in response to fan requests.
