This week we salute Grace Bishara Aswad. Grace was nominated by her daughter, Lisa Dudley. Lisa writes:

My Mom throughout her entire life has made an impact on those who meet her from infants to seniors. She married my Dad Richard Aswad back in 1957 and years later my Dad became an Orthodox priest with my Mom by his side. My Dad passed away in 2014 but she carries on their legacy of love. She was the choir director, Sunday School teacher, and now at 83 years old, still sings in the choir and impacts everyone who meets her. She has this extra special shine that radiates from inside her and it instantly draws you in. She genuinely loves people and always looks on the bright side and the positive in everyone. She is a great listener with great life advice and that is why so many want to share things with her. Besides all this she is simply stunning! My Mom raised 5 daughters, took care of my Grandfather as well as has 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She has a voice like a songbird and back in her younger days, she use to sing for the troops, perform at concerts in the community, and also performed in local musicals. She is a mentor to many and to me. Her strength and wisdom is reflected in the fact that later in her life she survived breast, colon, and liposarcoma cancer! Looking at her you would never know. She also was my caregiver when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. She showed me how to be strong as well as keep smiling when life throws you a curve. My Mom Grace is the pure definition of her name and we are blessed to have her as our Mother and the world is a better place because of her.
