This week we salute Lynn Dusing. Lynn was nominated by her daughter, Kathleen Dusing. Kathleen writes:

My mother has been serving others her entire life. She grew up caring for her 4 siblings my while grandparents worked. She went to catholic school and loved God so much she wanted to become a nun when she grew up. Instead she met my father; they married and had 4 children. She was a stay at home mom until her youngest went to school. She was and is always volunteering and staying active in the community. She sang in multiple church choirs. She volunteered at the school her children went to and was a lunch room attendant, classroom aid and chaparone on countless field trips. She was active working for the church food pantry. She collected donations for Nicaragua. She would also read books and newspapers articles for the buffalo frontier reading radio which was broadcast to the visually impaired. She helped in my bike rides for Diabetes and cancer funding. Currently she works with the literacy foundation to help an individuals learn to speak English. She also works with my father at a local food pantry that helps veterans. She recently began taking piano lessons and had decided that she will sell her guitar and case and donate the money to hurricane relief. My mother has been serving her family, God and the community for years. The love and service she embodies is a true inspiration.
