This is your last chance to enjoy the ice at Canalside! IF the weather holds up (is cold enough) this weekend will be the last of the season for the popular outdoor skating site.

This past February was the warmest on record and that posed plenty of trouble for the crews that maintain the ice at Canalside. There were numerous days that the operators had to close or cancel skating due to warm weather and a lack of good ice making and skating conditions.

Sunday March 5th is the final day of the ice season at Canalside. Although the weinter hasn't been much of a typical Buffalo winter in terms of snow and cold, there is much to look forward to fo the spring seaosn along Buffalo's Waterfront.

According to the calendar. there are plenty of "Everyday Spring Activities" to enjoy.

"Take a stroll or a jog along our Boardwalk or relax in one of our Buffalo Sunset Chairs and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Buffalo River and Lake Erie, especially at sunset! Enjoy a stroll around the Replica Canals – take in the historic interpretation of the Terminus of the Erie Canal, the Immigrant Steps, and Lloyd Street, Lake Street and Commercial Street bridges."

For those that are going to take advantage of the current forecast that calls for temperatures to be in the low 20's and teens for the next couple of days, there are a few theme days left before the ice melts away for the season.
