Sgt. Josh Mardino Is This Week’s Hometown Hero

It’s time once again for our Hometown Hero, brought to you by Batavia Downs Gaming. This Week’s Hometown Hero is orignally from North Collins, NY.  It's United States Marine Corps Sergeant Josh Mardino!

His nomination came from his brother Matthew and it says:

Josh has been an amazing inspiration to me. Growing up we both knew we wanted to be United States Marines and we pursued that at every cost. He taught me a lot growing up about how to conduct myself as a gentleman and a professional. Once he enlisted in the Marine Corps I knew it wouldn't be long until it was my turn. At his graduation from recruit training I saw how much he had changed. He left home with the idea that he had everything figured out and when he graduated he said this was the best first step toward success ever taken. Due to his outstanding attitude towards following his dreams I myself enlisted as well. Josh will always be a huge inspiration to everyone that he comes in contact with and is truly a Hometown Hero.

We want to say thank you to him for his service as well. This week, we are proud to call Josh Mardino our Hometown Hero of the week.
