It's an exciting time in downtown Buffalo. With the renovation of the Statler and Lafayette Hotels, the opening of the new Federal courthouse and big plans for the University of Buffalo's medical school to move to the city's medical corridor things are happening. And over the weekend groundbreaking (YNN) took place for another project that's been a long question mark for the city - the site of the old Memorial Auditorium.

Some people ride an ambulance for transportation to a hospital. Then there are people who steal ambulances to drive away from a hospital. That was the scenario early Sunday morning when an intoxicated woman stole a Rural Metro ambulance outside of the Erie County Medical Center and took it for a joyride that didn't end until she lost control and struck a stone wall at the traffic circle at Kensington Avenue and Harlem Road in Amherst.

Just before I left work this past Friday, I grabbed a copy of the "Act of Valor" soundtrack, which is loaded with country music. As most of you may already know, Keith Urban's song "For You", was the song chosen to be released as a single to radio. Most, or I should say, all of the songs on the album are about our military men and women. For those of you who are in the military or have loved ones in the military, you'd really connect with some of these songs. Track 2- by Sugarland- "Guide Me Home" is a great song--one of my 3 favorite on the soundtrack. One song that really stuck out is called "Where We Left Off" and it's performed by Hunter Hayes.
