Its been sunny and mild for the most part. Okay, so our days start off and finish up a bit on the nippy side, but otherwise, it's been pretty much wow!

In fact, as I sit here keyboarding away, it's almost 70 degrees and sunny. No need to be in any hurry for the leaves to change color. The longer it takes, the longer I can put off raking!

But, what do we have to look forward to? Should we look for winter coats before they're all gone or stock up on shovels? Or can we just relax and enjoy. Why don't we consult the most scientific source possible -- none other than the Old Farmer's Almanac.

Says here that winter will be slightly milder than normal, with near normal precipitation and below normal snowfall in most of the area. The coldest periods will be in mid- to late December, early and mid-January and early to mid-February. The snowiest times will be in mid- and late December and in late January.

So there you have it. And you thought we'd all be trapped in our homes (better than being trapped at work) with a six-pack or two in the fridge (that part's okay). It looks like winter will be a season to look forward to, but no hurry. Let's enjoy this fantastic fall first!
