I’ll never understand how people can have such disregard for another’s life.  In South Carolina, a young woman is facing charges after she allegedly gave birth to a little boy in a bathroom at a sports/concert arena and left him to suffocate in a toilet.

Jessica Blackham is a 25 year old married woman who has a 4 year old child at home.  She has no previous criminal record.  So why would she abandon a baby in a bathroom in Greenville, South Carolina?

The baby boy was found by workers at the Bi-Lo center in the cold toilet water somewhere around 90 minutes after the birth.  He had hypothermia and was choking when they found him.  But they did what they could to save the baby’s life.  He is now in stable condition.

Blackham is charged with two counts of felony child abuse and one count of unlawful neglect toward a child. If convicted on all charges, she could face up to 50 years in prison.
