South Wales, NY Girl Wins National Vocal Contest [VIDEO]

Congrats to Savannah Swatland of South Wales, NY. She was the winner of the recent Mountain Soul Vocal Contest in Tennessee!

Savannah beat out some stiff competition in the 13+ category, and we were lucky to have here on the show on Tuesday morning! The Mountain Soul Vocal Competition honors the songwriting of Dolly Parton by encouraging contestants to sing one of her more than 3,000 songs in their own vocal style.

Clay, Dale and Liz sat down with the 14-year-old and even got her to sing a little of her competition song! It will give you goosebumps.

It just so happens that the legendary singer, Dolly Parton, will be in Western New York this month. The official concert season of Western New York kicks off Friday with Taste of Country Buffalo at Coca-Cola Field. Tickets are still available for the show, which stars Billy Currington, Eli Young Band, Jerrod Niemann, Granger Smith and Locash.
