Southwest Completes First Flight To Hawaii

Finally!

If you're a big traveler, this is HUGE news! Southwest has taken the next step to flying to the 50th state!

Southwest Airlines, which is the biggest low-cost carrier, has completed a test flight from Oakland, California, to Honolulu to prove to the Federal Aviation Administration its long-range navigation and capabilities. Several other test flights will be administered in the upcoming days.

The airline has asked for certification to Honolulu and three other Hawaiian destinations and is getting closer to flying from the mainline. Southwest will eventually fly to Hawaii from both Oakland and Sacramento. No official date is set for consumer travel to Hawaii.
