How awesome is this story?

On the first day of school, an 8-year-old autistic Thai boy got nervous and walked away from his new class...right onto a third-floor balcony ledge. Teachers and administrators couldn't get him off the ledge and would have surely fallen had they tried. Mom rushed to the school, of course frantically calling 911.

After firefighter Somchai Yoosabai overheard the mom talking about her son's love of comic books and superheroes, he quickly jumped into a Spider-Man costume. (I was thinking the same thing you did -- where and how did he have that on hand??) Apparently, he lived down the street.

He climbed up to meet the boy on the ledge and and said, "Spider-Man is here to save you. No monster will hurt you now," Yoosabai said. "Then I told him to walk slowly toward me."

He said the boy jumped right into his arms, and then into his mother's. How awesome.
