Today we remember a Hometown Hero who has paid the ultimate sacrifice for his country.  Our Hometown Hero, originally from Newfane, NY is Army SPC Christopher Heinz.

Each week, we like to recognize the brave men and women who are currently fighting and have fought for us in the past in our U.S. armed services. This week, we would like to recognize PFC Shane Woods!

This week’s Hometown Hero has always wanted to serve. From the time he was a little boy, he’s always told his parents that he wanted to be in the Army. Originally from North Tonawanda, our Hometown Hero is 20-year-old Trevor Bowman.

This week's Hometown Hero is originally from Buffalo. It's a guy who joined the Army to help support his family. It's 40-year-old Army Sergeant William Finken!

This week’s Hometown Hero is a woman who has continued to climb the ladder in the Army. Originally from Corfu, our Hometown Hero is 22-year-old Army Corporal Rebecca McCoy.

Today's Hometown Hero comes to us originally from Buffalo and now lives in North Collins. He served for years in the Army and is still serving other veterans to this day. Our Hometown Hero is Paul Ministero.

It’s Veteran’s Day, and we here at WYRK would like to thank everyone who has served and is currently serving in our United States Military. I would like to take a couple seconds to stop and say thank you to one veteran in particular. He’s my favorite veteran. He’s my dad.

This week’s Hometown Hero is a young woman who is on her second deployment with the U.S. Army. Originally from Holley, our Hometown Hero is 28-year-old Army Captain Lindsay Gaylord.
