It was more than just a hockey game in Boston. It was a chance for the people of Boston to show they will not be defeated by evil. It was a chance for the whole country to begin the healing process after the Boston Marathon bombings. It began with the Bruins fans singing the National Anthem in honor of the bombing victims. On Tuesday, the Buffalo Sabres announced their 2012 preseason schedule. There will be a total of 7 games played, 3 of them being at the First Niagara Center. The preseason opens up with a game on Monday, September 4th in Montreal. After that, the Sabres head home for two games....1 against the Bruins on September 26th...and the other against the Toronto Maple leafs, which will be played on Friday, September 28th. The Sabres played a solid 40 minutes in Boston Thursday night. The final 20 minutes cost them though. The Sabres were holding on to a 1-0 lead late in the second period when a turnover off the stick of newly aquired Cody Hodgson went to a Bruin and a deflected shot tied the game. Then in the third period the Bruins were the better team putting on heavy pressure on the Sabres until finally breaking thru for a pair of goals in a 3-1 win.
