January 27, 2011 I guess if you're a Buffalo Bills fan you'll know exactly where you were 20 years ago today. You'll remember who you were with, what you ate and no doubt you'll remember how you felt at the end of the night. Today is the 20th anniversary of the Bills loss to the New York Giants in Super Bowl 25 in Tampa - a game most people know as the "Wide Right" game.
January 23, 2011 I never felt confident when the Buffalo Bills were being coached by Greg Williams, Mike Mularkey or Dick Jauron. Williams came in with a lot of bravado and a questionable staff of assistant coaches, but was a miserable failure on game day. Mularkey seemed to be in over his head from day one. Jauron - great guy. He'd make a great neighbor, but as a head coach I just couldn't see him getting the Bills over the top. By the way, nice to see he was able to hook up with Cleveland as the Browns defensive coordinator.
January 21, 2011 The Buffalo Bills expected to announce today they've agreed to terms with former NFL head coach Dave Wannstedt to join the Bills coaching staff in a newly created assistant head coach position. He'll be in charge of linebackers to fill a position that opened up last week with the release of linebackers coach DeMontie Cross. Wannstedt worked with Bills head coach Chan Gailey when Wanndstedt was head coach of the Miami Dolphins and Gailey was the Dolphins offensive coordinator. Wandstadt was also served as head coach of the Chicago Bears and won a Super Bowl as defensive coordinator under Jimmy Johnson with the Dallas Cowboys. Before that he was defensive coordinator under Johnson when the Miami Hurricanes won a national championship.
Although he only played three seasons with the Buffalo Bills, Cookie Gilchrist certainly left his mark on the fans and the team. We have just learned of his passing at the age of 75.

January 7, 2011 For Buffalo sports fans it was just another addition to the list of heartbreaking failures along with "Wide Right" and "No Goal". Do you remember where you were on January 8th, 2000? It was the last time the Buffalo Bills played in an NFL playoff game - 11 years ago. It was a game that went from what looked like an incredible comeback victory for the Bills to a heartwrenching defeat on just one play.
January 3, 2011 Some of his teammates had begun to call him the Amish rifle, but Ryan Fitzpatrick said all season his beard would come off after the final game and he wasn't kidding. Just hours after the Bills cleaned out their lockers at the stadium, Fitzpatrick was in a Hamburg barbershop to get cleaned up.
January 3, 2011 After getting blown out by a combined 72-10 in their final two games of the season, coach Chan Gailey said maybe the Bills weren't as far along as he thought. Six turnovers against the Jets followed the 7 giveaways against the Patriots the week before, so ball protection should be a big emphasis in the offseason. The Bills finish the season at 4 & 12, their worst record since 2001 when they finished 3 & 13.
December 26, 2010 It didn't help that the Bills turned the ball over 7 times - 5 of them courtesy of Ryan Fitzpatrick. An early field goal gave the Bills a 3-nothing lead but that was all the excitement the Bills provided for the hometown fans Sunday at Wilson Stadium. It was all Patriots after that rolling to a 34 to 3 victory - their 15th straight over the Bills. The last time the Bills beat the Patriots was in the season opener in 2003. It just shows the Bills aren't close to competing with the better teams in the NFL.
December 26, 2010 So this is it...the last home game at Ralph Wilson Stadium takes place today against the New England Patriots. Hopefully a little bit of the Christmas cheer can remain with us throughout the day today as we brave the cold
It must be Christmas. The Bengals, Panthers, Lions, and Bills all won this week.
December 19, 2010 I'll take a win against the Dolphins anytime. The Bills led the entire game and held on for a 17-14 victory. And a little added bonus. It eliminates the Dolphins from the playoffs.
December 13, 2010 Boy it's tough being a Buffalo sports fan. The Sabres got off to a rough start and they've got some work to do to secure a playoff spot. The Sabres outplayed the Penguins on Saturday night, but lost 5 to 2.
And there's the Bills. They're assured their 11th straight year out of the playoffs.
