Before this week, there were a lot of Buffalo Bills fans who never heard of Thad Lewis. But if he was an unknown before, he isn’t anymore. He went from the practice squad to the starting lineup in the Bills game against the Cincinnati Bengals and almost delivered a win against one of the better teams in the NFL.
A pretty impressive win by the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium. They stayed eyeball to eyeball with the Baltimore Ravens until late in the game, when the Ravens blinked and the Bills emerged with a 23-20 victory.
After all the encouraging signs and celebrating after the Buffalo Bills comeback victory over the Carolina Panthers the week before the Bills laid a huge egg in the Meadowlands against the New York Jets. Offensively and defensively the Bills looked an awful lot like any one of the teams from the past six or seven years – inept.
It's a pretty poor excuse for an NFL football game -- not just Thursday night's exhibition at Wilson Stadium, but every preseason finale. The projected regular season starters almost never play, and they shouldn't for fear of injury.
