Flyers Win Game 7 To Eliminate the Sabres

It always seems to work out the same way for Buffalo teams - they come out on the short end.  This year's Stanley Cup playoff series with the Philadelphia Flyers was no different.  The Sabres allowed a goal in the final minute of the first period, then gave up two power play goals in the second period as Philadelphia built a 3-0 lead and it was just too big a mountain to climb.  The Flyers beat the Sabres 5-2 to win the first round series in seven games - the second year in a row the Sabres were eliminated in the first round.

What Will Be Your Beverage For The Sabres Game Tonight?

Game 7 is tonight!  Most people in Western New York will be watching the Sabres/Flyers contest tonight.  For me, there is nothing like a cold beer when watching the hockey game.  It looks like we will be drinking Molson Stock Ale tonight, mainly because there are cold ones ready to go in the fridge

Do You Think The Sabres Can Win Game 7?

What the hell happened yesterday?  Maybe I jinxed myself by having a 5:00 Easter Dinner reservation right in the middle of the Sabres game. Actually the reservation was made before game 6 was even scheduled.  To say that I was very disheartened is quite an understatement.  A home game in our own house with our fans inside and outside the Arena and we still could not put it away.

Sabres Fans From Austria See Only 30 Seconds Of Playoff Game

It just killed me to read in the Buffalo News about the father and son from Austria who planned a trip to Buffalo to see Thomas Vanek and the Sabres for Game Four Wednesday night in their playoff series against the Flyers only to arrive with just 30 seconds left in the game.  The two started to plan for their trip April 8th after the Sabres clinched a playoff spot but because of the weather they were stuck in New Jersey as the game began.  When they finally arrived in Buffalo the third period was already underway.  They grabbed a taxi and when they arrived at HSBC Arena time was winding down.  When they finally got to their seats they got to experience the final 30 seconds of the Sabres' 1-0 victory.
