Tough night for Brad Keselowski at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Chase for the Sprint Cup points leader led the most laps, but for the second night in a row his crew miscalculated, and he ran out of gas. So for what looked like a sure victory, Keselowski found himself a lap down and he ended up 11th.

Matt Kenseth's victory at Charlotte on Saturday night puts him right in the thick of things with five races left in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Kenseth passed Kyle Busch on a restart with 25 laps left and claimed his third victory of the season. It moved him up two spots in the standings to third, just seven points behind Chase leader Carl Edwards.

Never count Jimmie Johnson out of the season championship. He sat 10th in the point standings just two weeks ago, but after finishing second at Dover and his win at Kansas this past Sunday he’s moved up seven spots to third and he’s within four points of points leader Carl Edwards. So he’s in good position to extend his string of championships to six in a row.
