Hamlin Wins His Fifth of the Season

Earlier in the week Denny Hamlin tweeted “We will win” and he backed it up with a dominating victory at New Hampshire in the second race of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

That was despite qualifying 32nd because his crew put the wrong air pressure in his tires. Pretty frustrating because he had the fastest car in both practice sessions.

The seedings are now set for the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Kevin Harvick won Saturday night's 400 lap race at Richmond giving him four victories this season and that was good enough to put him into a tie with Kyle Busch atop the standings heading into the final 10 races of the season. It was Harvick's first victory since May 29th at Charlotte and ended a nearly summer-long stretch of sub-par performances.

Even with a vibration issue late in the race, Jeff Gordon was able to hold off Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Jimmie Johnson, during the closing laps to win Tuesday's Sprint Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway -- a race delayed two days by Tropical Storm Lee.
