Happy 70th birthday to Ronnie Milsap! I was sorting through some of the photos from my broadcast in Nashville a couple years back. I came across these with Ronnie Milsap. Some of you will recognize him for his big hits, including "Stranger In My House". That song was ahead of its time and I think that that song and Ronnie's story can be a lesson to not only the artists but the fans of today's Country Music as well.

I was invited to a studio on Music Row today to see and meet Valory Music's new artist Thomas Rhett. He is the son of Rhett Akins (That Ain't My Truck). What a thrill. Not only was it great to see a guy before he makes it "big" and before the world has even seen or heard him officially, but the setting was one I won't ever forget!

It takes a large crew and a few days to get ready for the CMA. It is Country Music's biggest night and here is a video of the guys setting up what will be the runway that the stars take to get in to the Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday night.

Walking around Nashville this morning and look who I found!! GAC TV's Bill Cody. He was getting ready to host today's Music City Walk Of Fame event honoring (among others) Alan Jackson and Kixx Brooks! What a great guy! I busted on to his set and asked for some time and in true Southern fashion, Bill was gracious enough to give me a quick interview!

If you have never been to Nashville, here is a bit of what the honky tonkin is like on a Saturday night. In every single bar and on every single corner you can find live music. Most of which is good enough to "make it." The problem for most of these performers is that they have not gotten their big break.
