So much for the Buffalo Sabres two-game winning streak.  It came to an end with a huge thud with a 5-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets Wednesday night.  Columbus took control of the game with three goals in less than three minutes late in the second period.

Despite missing two key players the Buffalo Sabres turned it a great effort against the Columbus Blue Jackets Tuesday night but just couldn't solve Columbus goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.  The Blue Jackets scored a pair of first period goals and it was enough for a 3-1 victory.

Trailing 3-0 at the end of the first period the Buffalo Sabres were booed off the ice by the home fans at KeyBank Center on Saturday night.  But it didn't take long for the Sabres to respond when they returned to the ice to start the second period.

Buffalo Sabres coach Dan Balsyma challenged his players to show what type of team they want to be over the final 15 games of the season and Friday night they displayed it.  They're a team that plays just well enough to keep games interesting and just poorly enough to lose.

The Buffalo Sabres 4-0 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night was their most complete team victory of the season.  Jamie McGinn scored a pair of goals including one on the power play.  David Legwand scored shorthanded and Sam Reinhart scored his 18th goal of the season to take over the team lead in that category.
