July 6, 2012 The Nascar season reaches its halfway point this weekend, with Sprint Cup and Nationwide drivers heading back to Daytona International Speedway for the second time this season. And with the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship just a few weeks away, points and wins are becoming more important. Race wins decide seeding of the Top 10 and the two wild card positions.
July 4, 2011 For the third time this season a Sprint Cup driver posted his first career win. Saturday night at Daytona, David Ragan was in the lead on the 10th lap of overtime and the second try at a green white checkered finish when a big wreck behind him gave him the victory.
And ironic his first win would come at the same track where a mistake cost him a chance to win the Daytona 500. Last February, Ragan was penalized a lap when he changed lanes just before the start/finish line on a restart. He learned from his mistake.
