February 28, 2013 For only the third time this season, the Sabres have a winning streak. Yeah, ok, it’s only two games but you have to start somewhere. The Sabres closed out a two-game sweep in Florida with a 4-3 shootout win over the Florida Panthers. Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville scored in the shootout while Ryan Miller stopped both shots he faced in the shootout and 40 for the game.
December 24, 2010 Another sellout crowd trudged out of HSBC Arena Thursday night, disappointed again by the cast of characters we know as the Buffalo Sabres. For the second time in less than a week against the Florida Panthers they failed to show up in the first period and it cost them another game at home 4-3. A much better effort in 2nd period tied the game at 3-all, but these guys just can't buy a goal when they absolutely need it. They generated a lot of shots in the third period, but way too many that were high and wide.
December 18, 2010 What a bunch of thieves. The Sabres stole their paychecks in a 6 to 2 loss to the Florida Panthers Friday night. They obviously weren't ready to play in the first period. They were down 1-nothing after less than two minutes and 4-nothing after the first period.
