Young country up-and-comer Lauren Alaina paid her respects to country legend Kitty Wells last night (July 25) at the Grand Ole Opry. Wells died on July 16, and the 17-year-old singer said goodbye in the best way she knew how: by singing a medley of the iconic torchy hits Wells left behind.
May 29, 2012 Casey James, former American Idol contestant and opener at this year's WYRK/ Napa Auto Parts Taste of Country, will host the Grand Ole Opry's 4th annual "Guitars of the Stars" benefit auction. Casey will not only host the event, but he's also donating one of his guitars to the cause. These guitars not only belong to the artists, but they themselves helped design the guitars as well. April 11, 2012 Last night in Nashville at during his annual ‘All for the Hall’ benefit concert, Keith Urban was surprised to receive an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry. Vince Gill, Rascal Flatts and the Oakridge Boys were on hand to invite and present Keith with an Opry microphone stand as part of the announcement.
