You can do all the basics to keep your self alive on a motorcycle: own a well-maintained bike with great tires, brakes, lights, etc. Have all the proper protective gear: leather boots, jacket, gloves and proper eye wear, etc
If you were listening to country music in the 90's, then you must remember Doug Stone. Born Douglas Jackson Brooks, he changed his name in the late 80's to Doug Stone so he would not be confused with Garth Brooks and Kix Brooks. He made his debut on the Billboard Country Singles chart back in 1990 with his tune, "I'd Be Better Off In A Pine Box". He went on to have a number of hits throughout the 90's. His career began to stall a bit after he suffered a heart attack and stroke in the late 1990's. He also survived a plane crash in 1999 in Chicago. His troubles did not end there. In 2005, he was sentenced to six months in jail for failure to pay alimony and child support. He was also arrested in 2009 for a domestic dispute involving his 22 year old son.
It often surprises me to see how many motorcyclists are riding around with un-inspected bikes. Living here in New York State, that alone can be a financial mistake. Last time I checked, a motorcycle inspection ticket is a least a $100 fine plus that good old NY State surcharge
Brantley Gilbert's career has been gaining a lot of momentum lately. I guess it doesn't hurt when Jason Aldean records some of your tunes and starts racking up number one hits on the Billboard Country Singles Chart
One of my Harley buddies in England would always tell me, "John, it's not the speed.....it's the sudden stops". It's fun to sometimes go fast under the right conditions when motorcycle riding, but you need to use your head.

What an amazing concert on Friday night at Coca-Cola Field in downtown Buffalo. Almost 21,000 people showed up to hear Chuck Wicks, Josh Thompson, Easton Corbin, Chris Young and Josh Turner. When you are working the show like we are, it is often very hard to really listen to the performers
I have been riding motorcycles since I was a teenager. Bikes have always fascinated me, no matter what type: motocross, trials, street, racers, cruisers, choppers, etc. I love them all. Over the years I have owned a bunch of different ones
If you listen to my show, you may have heard me mention my love of running. It's a hobby I do to basically stay in shape, keep the pounds off and have a good workout. I mostly run 5K races which works out to 3
Suzy Bogguss is a beautiful lady both inside and out. I have had the pleasure of hanging out with her many times when she has visited Buffalo. One time in particular at Darien Lake, she and I spent some time on her tour bus and drank tea and talked about everything under the sun
Spring Turkey season began this past Sunday and not too many of my friends have taken birds so far. Congratulations to 14 year old Alyssa Tomczyk who took a beautiful bird on Easter Sunday morning while hunting with her dad in Machias
