It's truly amazing the sacrifices that our service men and women make to ensure our freedom.   Take this week's Hometown Hero, for instance.  He has always known that he was going to be a marine and even sacrificed seeing the birth of his son to make it happen.

This week’s Hometown Hero is a Marine from West Seneca, NY.  He has always wanted to become a Marine and now he is living out that dream.  This week we honor Corporal Anthony Avolio as our Hometown Hero.

These two brothers lost their father when they were very little and have grown an incredibly strong bond between the two of them.  So when one of the brothers decided to join the Marine Corps, he took part of his brother with him.  The best part is when they get back together.

Each week we recognize and honor the soldiers who are fighting for our freedom or have done their time and helped to protect us in the past. Along with that, we recognize that it takes a huge sacrifice from the family as well. This week, we recognize 20-year-old Marine Corporal David Liskiewicz as our Hometown Hero!

Our Hometown Hero this week comes to us originally from Portsmouth, Va., but Alden is the town that he calls home. It’s 23-year-old Marine Sergeant Thomas Over.

This week's Hometown Hero is originally from Alden.  It's 21-year-old Marine Corps Lance Corporal Jordan Koziarski.

This week’s Hometown Hero is a Marine Corps Sergeant. Originally from Grand Island, our Hometown Hero is Sergeant Michael Magaris!

Our Hometown Hero this week is 18-year-old Matthew Fischer from Alden! Matthew is a graduate of Alden High School.

This week's Hometown Hero is Marine Corps Sergeant Jeff Gramlich.  He's originally from Tonawanda and he spent 4 years in the Marines.  This is a guy who was on the front lines in Afghanistan and Iraq.

This week's Hometown Hero is 21-year-old Jim Militello from Lakeview. Jim is a 2010 graduate of Frontier High School. He studied Criminal Justice at Daytona State College for two years after high school but decided he wanted to do something more with his life, so he joined the Marines.

This week's Hometown Hero comes to us from Warsaw, N.Y. Her name is Kaillee Bridges, and she served in the United States Marine Corps. We celebrate her life and her service to our country this Memorial Day Weekend.

We would like to send our sincere thanks to our Hometown Hero Of The Week! Adam Wiepert is a 26-year-old Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Originally from Lancaster, Adam is currently serving his second tour in Afghanistan.
