Kenseth Wins His Second Straight at New Hampshire

Matt Kenseth battled to the lead after a late restart and won his second race of the season and third career race at New Hampshire's Magic Mile on Sunday.  Kenseth's victory is his second in a row at the track and the 38th of his career.  He led 38 laps and beat Tony Stewart to the finish line by nearly two seconds.

Matt Kenseth Holds On For Third Career Victory at Dover Speedway

Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Dover International Speedway came down to a wild finish over the last five laps with Kyle Larson looking for his first Cup victory hot on the tail of Matt Kenseth.  On a couple of turns he pulled alongside of him, but using the outside groove Kenseth held on to the lead and won for the first time this season and third time at Dover.  It's Kenseth's 37th Sprint Cup victory.

Logano Nudges Past Kenseth To Win At Kansas

Matt Kenseth dominated at Kansas Speedway on Sunday.  He led 153 of 269 laps and appeared to be on his way to victory and an automatic pass into the next round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.  But Kenseth was nudged from behind into a spin by Joey Logano with five laps left, then Logano pulled away from the field on a green, white, checkered restart for his second straight win and fifth of the season.

Matt Kenseth Wins at Pocono When Leaders Run Out of Gas

It was a fuel-mileage race that a number of drivers gambled on and lost including Joey Logano, who led 97 of 160 laps but finished 12th when he ran out gas with three laps to go.  Kyle Busch inherited the lead, but instead of winning his fourth straight race he ran out of gas too and didn't even make it back to the finish line.  The gas tank of Martin Truex, Jr. went dry too.

Jimmie Johnson Wins Sixth Cup Title

It was almost a formality. Jimmie Johnson had such a huge lead entering the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway that all he had to do was finish 23rd or better to earn his sixth Sprint Cup Championship.

He came in ninth, and that was good enough for his sixth career title, putting him just one behind the NASCAR Cup Series all-time record holders, Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt, who each won seven.
