I've been saying for years that military, both active and retired, should have a separate lane or station at airports and bus stations for screening. I saw this story this morning and it got under my skin.
It's one of the most heartwarming, sob-inducing sights you'll see on the Internet: the soldier returning home from overseas, surprising his or her child. It never gets old, one of the genuine feel-good moments the Internet lets us see.
This is pretty cool news! The Air National Guard unit that is based in Niagara Falls will soon be piloting unmanned drones that fly around the world. That's right, just like a video game, men and women will control
I stumbled upon this video while perusing the internet this morning. The video comes from the site Military.com and it features a U.S. Marine talking about why he joined and how war gives you thick skin. Certainly, we know that already, but sometimes we need a reminder of how much some sacrifice so we can live the way we do. Check out
As you may know, I really enjoy playing songs that honor our servicemen and women. Our soldiers are the true heroes of this nation. We always try to do a lot of requests for our military friends. Many of them are listening on-line in far away places...
Today and tomorrow we pay tribute to American veterans. The president will lay a wreath at the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier. Thousands of people will show their support for our service men and women by lining the streets of New York City for the nation's Veterans Day Parade.
Veterans Day is tomorrow so I thought it would be great to honor the men and women who have worn the uniform of the U.S. Military with a special edition of Wide Open Country. Today's show will feature many songs about our soldiers and our country. The...
When former Marine Shaun Duling met Bolt, a stray Labrador-shepherd mix, the little fella was skittish and hungry. Duling was doing contract work in Afghanistan with a German military unit, and while the Germans had adopted Bolt's sister as their mascot, the less-outgoing Bolt was mostly ignored.
When Tammy Faile and her two children were chosen as the military family of the game for South Carolina's match up Saturday against the University of Georgia, they probably expected some sort of message from their husband and father Sgt. First Class Scott Faile, who is stationed in South Korea.
And that's what they got at halftime, a video message on the University of South Carolina’s Williams-Bri
Toby Keith is very much an artist who shows his support for our military. He has done countless overseas shows and visited with soldiers who have been wounded during service.
Chris Young had the chance to catch up with an old friend during a visit to Minot Air Force Base last week. The singer stopped by the base for a CD signing with some of our country’s finest airmen as part of his work with Stars for Stripes and the Minot Exchange. While there, he was reunited with Wounded Warrior Scott Lilley, whom he first met in 2009 while working with Stars for Stripes.

Engineering students at Utah State were asked to create a device that would allow military personnel to scale walls. What they invented was some kind of a super high-powered vacuum, but it's cool, nonetheless! Spiderman-like! The only problem is that the vacuum is really loud. I'm sure there will be modifications made to it before it reaches the battlefield. Check this video out....
