Monopoly

You all know you fight over the Scottie Dog when it comes to playing a game of Monopoly.  Well, now there may just be some new options coming to a board game near you.

We learned yesterday that “Monopoly” has dumped the iron and replaced it with the cat as a play piece on the game board. Hasbro invited “Monopoly” fans to vote on the switch and more than 10-million people did. The boot, iron and wheelbarrow received the fewest votes in support. The Scottie dog got the most support.

I've never seen a game of Monopoly end well.  First of all they take eight hours to play (especially if you play like my dad used to). Secondly, they nearly always end with me holding on to my cheap property and trying to pay the rent on Boardwalk.  But if you're a fan of the board game, you might be excited to hear that they will soon have a new piece that you can play with.  Click here to see it

Monopoly is back at Tops!  Today contestants tried their hands at aquiring property, building houses and hotels, and collecting rent as they took to a Monopoly tournament in Hamburg.

Today in country music history marks the official day that the original Gilley's Nightclub opens in Pasadena, TX, Randay Travis and Sara Evans make their Grand Ole Opry debut, and Faith Hill proves she's still got it.

Is the traditional board game a thing of the past?  Maybe, as the classic “Monopoly” game’s new version exchanges “dice” and “paper money” for a tower computer that will monitor each player’s activity.  The only good thing that can come from this is keeping the banker from cheating, lol.
