April 18, 2013 NASCAR came down with some heavy penalties to the Penske Racing team for violations last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. The cars of Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano were found with illegal parts in the rear housing and they had to change them before getting on the track.
April 14, 2013 What a weekend for Kyle Busch at Texas Motor Speedway. He won Friday night's Nationwide race then won Saturday night's Sprint Cup NRA 500 for his seventh career weekend sweep to set a NASCAR record.
The key to winning Saturday's race was on Friday afternoon when he won the pole giving him the choice of pit boxes.
April 11, 2013 With the addition of Dale Jarrett, the nominees for this year's NASCAR Hall of Fame class are now complete. Jarrett has 32 Cup victories and was the Cup champion in 1999. The nominees will be narrowed to five inductees and announced on May 22nd. The Hall was opened in May of 2010 and currently has 20 members.
April 7, 2013 For the seventh time in his last 14 races at Martinsville Jimmie Johnson comes away the winner. It’s his 8th career victory at Martinsville and with it comes his 8th Martinsville grandfather clock trophy. Johnson also becomes the first driver with multiple wins to go along with his Daytona 500 victory.
April 4, 2013 After a week off, Sprint Cup is back along with the Truck Series on the short track at Martinsville Speedway. We’ll get to see how much tempers have cooled down after a number of incidents involving Joey Logano.
March 24, 2013 For the second week in a row Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin were involved in an incident, but this time it sent Hamlin to the hospital after a hard crash on the final lap of the Auto Club 400 in California. The two were battling for the lead when Logano bumped Hamlin sending both into the wall. Hamlin took the hardest hit and collapsed when he got out of his car. He was alert after the race but was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
March 21, 2013 In the first five weeks of the season the Gen-6 car is being tested on all sorts of tracks. From the Superspeedway of Daytona to the short track at Bristol. This week NASCAR heads back out west to the two-mile Auto Club Speedway in California. It’s the first of two visits there this season.
March 17, 2013 Kasey Kahne took the lead on a late restart and held off pole-sitter Kyle Busch to win for the first time at Bristol Motor Speedway. Brad Keselowski came in third followed by Kurt Busch and Clint Bowyer.
March 14, 2013 From the big track at Daytona to the one mile track at Phoenix and last week at the mile and half circuit at Vegas, the Gen-6 car now gets a test at a short track. Drivers weren’t too happy with the new car at Daytona, it was better at Phoenix and Vegas, but now they move to the half-mile Bristol.
