If Carl Edwards was going to finally break a 70-race winless streak could it be any more appropriate it would come at the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix Raceway? Nearly two years after his last win Edwards led the most laps and held on during a green, white, checkered finish to treat the fans to his patented backflip off the door of his Number 99 Ford.

Here is the video of Clay Cook performing the National Anthem Sunday (February 24). Lots of critics are saying it was sub-par. I thought it was all right. He didn't try to over sing it like we have heard other performers do in the past. It's the hardest song to sing no matter where. But in front of an audience as large as the Daytona 500 TV audience, the pressure has to be brutal!

Dale Earnhardt, Junior got a shove from Mark Martin to threaten, but it was Jimmie Johnson holding on to win the series biggest race for the second time his career.

If you were at the George Strait show on Friday night (February 22), you may have missed the NextEra Energy Resources 250 truck race at Daytona Speedway. It is my goal this year to get to a truck race. These drivers go all out and critics have been saying this was one of the best in years.

Coming off the victory in the Sprint Unlimited, Harvick won his heat in the Duel 150's and that will place him in the third starting position on Sunday while Busch will start fourth. Expect this year’s Daytona 500 to be the most-watched in its history. Why? Because a woman will be leading the way with 42 men following. Danica Patrick made NASCAR history over the weekend by becoming the first woman ever to win the pole for a Sprint Cup race. Not only that, she has the pole for the sport’s biggest race of the year.
