While the Buffalo Bills were embarrassing themselves on national TV the Buffalo Sabres were out west in Arizona against the Coyotes where they held on for a 5-4 win, but just barely.  Arizona scored first, but the Sabres scored five straight goals to build a 5-1 lead.

You can't criticize the Buffalo Sabres' effort on Saturday afternoon.  They played about as hard as they could against a veteran San Jose Sharks team, but the bounces just didn't go their way in a 3-2 loss to drop their season record to 3-7-2.  A controversial video review took away a goal and that was the difference.

So much for the Buffalo Sabres two-game winning streak.  It came to an end with a huge thud with a 5-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets Wednesday night.  Columbus took control of the game with three goals in less than three minutes late in the second period.

If you like lots of offense, this was not the game for you.  But if you enjoy watching the Buffalo Sabres win a game you were in the right place.  Benoit Pouliot scored the only goal of the game and Robin Lehner and the Buffalo defense made it hold up in the Sabres 1-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings Tuesday night at KeyBank Center.
