Buffalo Sabres Win 5th In A Row In San Jose

Sometimes one team just has another team's number.  Try as they might the Buffalo Sabres just don't seem to have a whole lot of luck when they play the Pittsburgh Penguins.  But it's a different story when they play the San Jose Sharks.  Friday night the Sabres beat the Sharks in San Jose for the fifth straight time.  In the last 10 games against the Sharks overall the Sabres are 9-0-1.

Buffalo Sabres Open West Coast Trip With A Loss

Passes that are a little off, shots that are a little wide.  The Buffalo Sabres played a good game against the red-hot Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night, but not good enough to beat them.  Anaheim's Sam Vatenen scored a second period power play goal and the Ducks defense made it hold up in a 1-0 win over the Sabres for Anaheim's sixth straight win.

Buffalo Sabres Trade Defenseman To Washington Capitals

It's just another reminder that pro sports is a business and in the case of the Buffalo Sabres, general manager Tim Murray is trying to bring a championship to the city.  Yesterday Murray traded defenseman Mike Weber to the Washington Capitals in exchange for a third round draft choice in the 2017 draft.

Buffalo Sabres Lose Eighth Straight Against the Penguins

Another Bad Loss By The Buffalo Sabres

What does it say when the best player on the ice is a rookie playing in his first game in the National Hockey League?  It says you have a team without leadership, chemistry, fortitude and seemingly a team without pride.  The Buffalo Sabres inserted 20-year old Williamsville native Justin Bailey into the lineup for Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers and he made his mark with physical play and put himself in a position to score all night long.  The rest of the team could learn something from him.  Bailey finished with seven shots on goal and came close to scoring his first NHL goal in his first game.

3-Goal Third Period Carries Buffalo Sabres Past Montreal

It wasn't a thing of beauty, but the Buffalo Sabres did what they had to do to beat the reeling Montreal Canadiens Wednesday night in the Sabres' first game following the All-Star break.  Trailing 2-1 in the third period Jamie McGinn's power play goal tied the game and Johan Larsson's tip in on a shot by Jake McCabe put the Sabres into the lead.  Sabres captain Brian Gionta clinched it when he scored into an empty net with seconds to play.
