September 25, 2012 Last Thursday at the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame dinner, my co host for the event, YNN's Katie Morse came up with a plan to introduce one of the night's inductees. Rick Jeanneret really needs no introduction. However, long time broadcast partner and friend to Rick, Harry Neale was excellent at doing just that!
The Buffalo Sabres, although not making the biggest of splashes in free agency, are making improvements to the roster little by little. The team has made a real push at getting bigger and tougher for the upcoming season. Earlier acquisitions included the mountainous John Scott, tough-guy Steve Ott and Adam Pardy. The newest player to sign with the team is Kevin Porter.
The NHL free agency period is underway and the Sabres wasted no time dropping and acquiring players. Early Sunday, Brad Boyes was signed by the New York Islanders. His contract is for 1 year and it's reportedly worth 1 million dollars. Personally, I don't thing Buffalo will miss Boyes. Later in the day, Buffalo added a mountain of a man who can play both offense and defense. The team acquired John Scott, who's 6 foot 8 and weighs....
June 12, 2012 Anyone who is passionate about sports should understand how the fan in this video is feeling. At the time of this interview, his team had never won the coveted Stanley Cup. They were at the brink of the ultimate championship and he could feel it.
The NHL Stanley Cup playoffs are in full swing. Playoff hockey is some of the best hockey you will ever see. The playoffs always seem to separate the men from the boys. Players who were playing at 100% during the regular season often are able to play at 150% if such a thing is even possible
Although the Buffalo Sabres failed to make the playoffs, many REAL hockey fans are still checking out some of the games being played. If you happened to catch the Chicago v.s. Phoenix game last night, you saw former Sabre Raffi Torres (yes..he spent all of 6 minutes in Buffalo) throw a dirty hit on Marrian Hossa of the Chicago Black Hawks.
April 2, 2012 The weekend was a dreary one for Sabres fans hoping for one final push to get into the playoffs. Things looked great until Friday and Saturday came along and dealt the Sabres two losses. However, don't count them out yet.

Niklas Kronwall of the Detroit Red Wings laid a bone crushing hit on Jakub Voracek of the Philidelphia Flyers last night. Voracek was in obviouse distress and the officails let the play go on. One of the announcers is in utter disbelief that no whistle was blown to assist the oviously injured Jakub Voracek
March 4, 2012 The Buffalo Sabres are 3 for 3 so far on their four game roadtrip. After shutout victories in Anaheim and San Jose the Sabres kept rolling along with a 5 to 3 win against the league-leading Vacouver Canucks. The Sabres built a 3-0 first period lead on a pair of goals by Ville Leino and one by Brad Boies, then held off the Canucks the rest of the way.
February 9, 2012 I've always thought that goalies in the NHL had the coolest helmets in all of sports. I think it's great that they're allowed to show a bit of their personality along with some team spirit by getting their masks painted any way they like.
