January 25, 2012 As long as I have known Dale (17years) he has had a mustache. Actually, I think since Dale was 14 he has had one. I'm not sure if you will find a more dedicated sports fan than Dale. To be perfectly clear, a dedicated BUFFALO sports fan.

November 3, 2011 It didn’t take long for the Philadelphia Flyers to cash in on some awful play by the Sabres Wednesday night. The Flyers scored three times in the first six and a half minutes and held on for a 3 to 2 win. After Lindy Ruff decided to pull Ryan Miller and replace him with Jonas Enroth the Sabres woke up and played a lot better, but they just couldn’t make up for the bad start.
November 1, 2011 Hard to believe, but there was a time when NHL goaltenders didn’t wear masks or helmets. Incredible when you think of the speed of the game and how badly you can get hurt if you get hit by a puck. But that’s the way it was until Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jacques Plante became the first to wear a full facemask.

The Sabres beat Columbus 4 to 2 last night for their first home victory of the season, but the night started out awkwardly when there was no anthem singer. So instead fans were invited to sing both the U-S and Canadian anthems with the organist.
And there were a couple of emotional moments last night. The first was when a young cancer patient dropped the puck for the ceremonial opening faceoff on Hockey Fights Cancer night. Then later the Sabres honored a soldier in their Hometown Heroes promotion.
October 8, 2011 The Sabres completed a very successful European road trip with a 4 to 2 win over the L-A Kings in Berlin on Saturday. Luke Adam led the Sabres attack with a pair of goals while Paul Gaustad and Drew Stafford had the other Buffalo goals. Nathan Gerbe and Thomas Vanek each had a pair of assists.

April 22, 2011 It just killed me to read in the Buffalo News about the father and son from Austria who planned a trip to Buffalo to see Thomas Vanek and the Sabres for Game Four Wednesday night in their playoff series against the Flyers only to arrive with just 30 seconds left in the game. The two started to plan for their trip April 8th after the Sabres clinched a playoff spot but because of the weather they were stuck in New Jersey as the game began. When they finally arrived in Buffalo the third period was already underway. They grabbed a taxi and when they arrived at HSBC Arena time was winding down. When they finally got to their seats they got to experience the final 30 seconds of the Sabres' 1-0 victory.
April 20, 2011 I was broken hearted the day that I heard that Danny Briere was leaving the Buffalo Sabres. He's now in Philadelphia and that alone is making this series worth every minute to watch. Its strange to think that Ryan Miller and Daniel Briere who were friends for years would suddenly have to become opponents but it's great to see two incredible players going after each other.
