It didn’t take long for the Philadelphia Flyers to cash in on some awful play by the Sabres Wednesday night. The Flyers scored three times in the first six and a half minutes and held on for a 3 to 2 win. After Lindy Ruff decided to pull Ryan Miller and replace him with Jonas Enroth the Sabres woke up and played a lot better, but they just couldn’t make up for the bad start.

It always seems to work out the same way for Buffalo teams - they come out on the short end.  This year's Stanley Cup playoff series with the Philadelphia Flyers was no different.  The Sabres allowed a goal in the final minute of the first period, then gave up two power play goals in the second period as Philadelphia built a 3-0 lead and it was just too big a mountain to climb.  The Flyers beat th

Tyler Ennis scored on a rebound in overtime to give the Sabres a 4-3 win over the Flyers in Philadelphia to give the Sabres a 3-2 lead in their best of seven first round series.  The Sabres had built a 3-0 lead in the first period only to see the Flyers rally with two goals in the second period and former Sabre Daniel Briere beating Ryan Miller to tie it 3-3 setting the stage for overtime. Jason Pominville scored a first period goal and Ryan Miller did the rest, stopping all 32 shots he faced in the Buffalo Sabres 1-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers to even their best of seven playoff series at two games apiece.  Miller was spectacular at times but there was no save bigger than the one he made on former Sabre captain Daniel Briere who was parked all alone in front of the Buffal

I was broken hearted the day that I heard that Danny Briere was leaving the Buffalo Sabres.  He's now in Philadelphia and that alone is making this series worth every minute to watch.  Its strange to think that Ryan Miller and Daniel Briere who were friends for years would suddenly have to become opponents but it's great to see two incredible players going after each other.  Wednesday night, Ryan

Congratulations to Jamie Clark of Orchard Park who won a pair of tickets to tonight's Buffalo Sabres playoff game against the Philadelphia Flyers.  Jamie submitted a photo of herself on the Great Wall of China wearing a cap with the Sabres logo - a photo she snapped herself.  What a great shot.

The Philadelphia Flyers finally scored a power play goal in their series with the Buffalo Sabres and it propelled them to a 5 to 4 playoff win.  The Flyers had 10 chances with the man advantage so you figured it was just a matter of time before they would find the net.   That power play goal broke a 3-3 tie in the second period and a short time later former Sabre Daniel Briere had a puck deflect o

The Sabres earned an impressive 1-0 victory in Philadelphia with an outstanding defensive effort against the Flyers Thursday night to take Game One of their opening round playoff series.  Angola native Patrick Kaleta scored the lone goal of the game on the rebound of a shot by defenseman Marc-Andre Gragnani six minutes into the third period.  It...
