Ray Price has entered hospice care in his home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Reports of Country Music Hall of Famer Ray Price's death are premature, as the singer's wife shared that he is "still with us" in a message posted a few minutes after 4PM CT on Sunday (Dec. 15). As of about 11 PM last night, Ray was still in 'come mode'.

My prayers are with Ray Price and his family as they are going through the struggle of Ray's battle with cancer. Price has been one of my favorite artists since I began listening to country music. Although he may not be a mainstream artist these days, there are a few of his songs that will always rank at the top of my list of all-time favorites.

Country icon Ray Price, who made headlines earlier this year over a public tiff with Blake Shelton due to comments the latter made about country music's elder statesmen and classic artists, referring to them as "old farts," has been readmitted to the hospital. If Blake Shelton really wants to make up for his recent comments about classic country fans being "old farts," it looks like he's going to have the chance. The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year has been offered a gig opening for country legend Ray Price, who publicly took him to task after his comments went viral.

If you haven't heard already, Blake Shelton got himself into a bit of hot water with some classic country singers, including one of his favorites -- Ray Price. In his GAC "Backstory" profile, Blake said, "Nobody wants to listen to their grandpa's music."  Now he's got a friend taking to Twitter to back him up.

Legendary country star Ray Price is not happy with reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Blake Shelton, and he's not afraid to say so in public. In a Facebook post today, the 87-year-old entertainer took issue with comments Shelton made to GAC, in which he derided old country fans for not understanding the music of the new generation.
