For the first time this month the Buffalo Sabres have back to back wins.  Sam Reinhart scored a power play goal early in the second period and the Sabres made it hold up until Evander Kane scored the clinching goal, his 19th of the season late in the third for a 2-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

In likely what was their best opening 20 minutes of the season the Buffalo Sabres opened up a 3-0 lead on the Toronto Maple Leafs and held on for a 3-1 win Saturday night in Toronto.  Evander Kane scored twice to up his team-leading goal total to 18, Sam Reinhart scored on the power play and Jack Eichel assisted on all three goals.

The Buffalo Sabres continued their impressive play on home ice with Saturday's 4-0 shut out of the Ottawa Senators who came in as one of the hottest teams in the NHL.  Robin Lehner stopped 37 shots including 16 in the third period for his fourth career shutout and first this season.

It was a much better effort than the stinkbomb they laid in Montreal, but the Buffalo Sabres still came up short in Thursday night's meeting with the New York Rangers.  The Sabres did a lot of great things in the game, played great defense, created tremendous scoring chances.  They did everything they needed to do except score in a 2-1 overtime loss.

It was a goaltender's duel in Montreal Saturday night and for a change the Buffalo Sabres' goaltender emerged as the winner as the Sabres beat the Candiens 3-2 in overtime.  Zach Bogosian's first goal of the season on a pass from Ryan O'Reilly was the game winner as the Sabres avenged an opening night loss to the Canadiens.

A combination of bad luck and shaky goaltending contributed to the Buffalo Sabres 4-3 loss in Toronto on Tuesday night.  The Sabres were up 2-0 on goals by Kyle Okposo and Evander Kane when the Leafs began their comeback 32 seconds into the second period when they scored the first of four straight goals.
