Shea's Theatre Construction Starts Fire, Cancels Performance [VIDEO]

An electrical fire is to blame for $75,000 of damage to Shea’s Smith Theatre. The fire started just after 12:30 this afternoon, when you could see heavy smoke coming out of the building. The electrical fire did not damage Shea’s Performing Arts Center. Tonight’s performance of “Late Nite Catechism Las Vegas” at 7:30 p.m. has been moved to 710 Main Street.

Will New Life Come To The Studio Arena Theater?

The fate of Studio Arena Theater has been in question for some time; will it come back to life after a court-mandated foreclosure sale? The auction is set to take place on Tuesday May 8th at the Erie County Hall foreclosure alcove. According to Buffalo Business First, 710 Main Street Inc. will bid on the property as a venue for both national and local productions. 710 Main Street Inc. is affiliated with Shea’s. Studio Arena closed four years ago after suffering huge losses.
