Simon Pure

Many years ago, Buffalo was home to many breweries. The last major breweries were Iroquois and Simon Pure which closed their doors in 1971 and 1972. One of my hobbies is collecting artifacts from these Buffalo breweries. I collect almost everything from the Simon Pure and Iroquois breweries: neon signs, lights, taps, cans, coasters, openers, etc...

When was the last time you drank some hometown Buffalo beer? For many folks, it may have been a Simon Pure or Iroquois in the early 70's when our two last major Buffalo breweries went out of business. Have you ever tasted any of the offerings from Flying Bison?

One of my hobbies is collecting old beer items from Buffalo breweries like Simon Pure, Iroquois, Stein's, Beck's, Manru-Schreiber and many others. There was a time when Buffalo was a major beer producing town and home to many breweries.

Go back in history 100 years and you would find that Buffalo was the 8th largest city in the United States. Buffalo was a manufacturing giant back then. We produced everything from furniture to automobiles to beer. And yes, lots of beer. Buffalo was home to many breweries including: Beck's, Stein's,Schriebers, Phoenix, Iroquois and Simon Pure to name a few...
