NHL sources say the NHL Board of Governors has approved the sale of the Buffalo Sabres to Terry Pegula. That word coming just hours before the Sabres game Friday night against the St. Louis Blues. The only thing left to do now is to sign the papers making the ownership swap official and that's expected to happen this Tuesday

When the guy shows up at HSBC Arena in the flesh it's hard to deny he's not there. The Buffalo Sabres released a statement that Terry Pegula met with team officials on Tuesday for informal discussions ahead of buying the team from Tom Golisano. For weeks various sources have reported that Pegula will plunk down $175-million to buy the team, but minority investor Larry Quinn continued to deny there was an elephant in the room...."a sale? What sale? I don't know anything about a sale." I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea.

Looks like the sale of the Buffalo Sabres to billionaire Terry Pagula will come next week. According to a report on WGRZ-TV Channel 2, an agreement to sell the team has been reached between Pagula and Tom Golisano, but it won't be announced until after the completion of the World Junior Hockey Championships taking place this week in Buffalo.

Haven't heard much about a possible sale of the Sabres since we first heard that Terry Pagula had made a bid to buy the team. Well, it turns out Pagula was at last night's Sabres game checking things out and he got to see Drew Stafford score a hat trick in a 3 to 2 win over the Bruins.

I was reading the story in the Buffalo News written by Bucky Gleason about Terry Pagula - a self made billionaire who wants to buy the Buffalo Sabres. Pagula loves football and hockey, but his passion is the Sabres. His friends say he worked hard all his life, is very modest, down to earth and a blue collar guy who people in Buffalo can identify with.
