I was just listening to Clay and Dale talking this morning about how great the weather was yesterday in Buffalo at 6 p.m. As a matter of fact, they compared it to Miami and Dallas, and we had better weather than both of them. It was absolutely gorgeous! So was the scenery.
One of my favorite local places to visit is Letchworth State Park. My father took me there many times when I was growing up so I have a ton of great memories of Letchworth. I think anyone who lives in Western New York and has not been to Letchworth really needs to go there and see this jewel of nature that we are so lucky to have
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I heard a lot of people complaining about the big weather change recently. Last Thursday it got up to 79 degrees and we broke the record of 77 set back in 1963 for that date
Here in Buffalo, the weather really isn't that bad. We don't have any earthquakes, we don't get any hurricanes, and there are never mudslides or tornadoes. We just get a little bit of snow, that's all.
Dierks Bentley's annual Miles and Music for Kids event is one he looks forward to year round. Unfortunately, the 2012 charity motorcycle ride and concert -- scheduled for Sunday afternoon (Oct. 14) -- has been canceled due to severe weather in the Nashville area.
This year we were very lucky to experience the warmest March on record for Western New York. On March 17th (Saint Patrick's Day), my buddy Tony showed up at my house on his Harley. After we spent 45 minutes digging my Harley out of the back of my garage, he and I took off on a 100 mile ride all around Western New York
One of the mildest winters in memory followed by 6-straight days of record high temperatures in March and now heavy snow in April. Some areas to the south of Buffalo could see 5 to 9 inches today. It’s been one weird year for weather in Western New York.
It's an annual event at the Buffalo Airport. The crew that handles snow removal holds a fun event call the 'Equipment Rodeo." Airfield Superintendent Tom Dames ( Marine Corps Pilot Ret.) gives his award winning crew a chance to show off their skills and "practice" for the upcoming snow season.I had a chance to be a part of it today. Of all the things I have covered, this ranks close to the top as one of the most unique and exciting things I have seen. Thanks to Brad Hohman for taking the time to film and photograph this.
We have a Category 3 storm on our hands, well not exactly "our" hands but over the Bahamas today (Wednesday), with forecasters predicting that the storm will smack into the Carolina coast and regions up through southern New England with torrential rain and strong winds. What does this mean for us here in Western New York?
It wasn’t all that long ago we were wondering if Summer would ever get here. Remember the saying, be careful what we wish for? Now its sweltering hot. What can we do besides hope fall comes along soon?
The National Weather Service offers some tips on dealing with heat hazards.
