I love getting out of the house to do stuff.  However, after having a couple kids and trying to get my bills paid, the checking account can get low sometimes.  So what is there to do in our city that doesn't have to cost money? There's  a lot, but here are just a few!

There are plenty of reasons to eat and shop locally.  Remember when you eat at local restaurants, you aren't contributing to a multi million dollar CEO's bank account, you're helping to provide a life for a family here in Western New York.  And what better time to try out some new restaurants than this week during Local Restaurant Week!

We knew it had to happen right?  We held off for so long but winter made its way here this week in full force.  Of course it was much different from town to town.  The snow seemed to linger over the southtowns for much of the day on Monday and it was completely clear in Buffalo.

Eric Church recently released a new album called "Mr. Misunderstood".  The album itself was a secret to just about everyone except Eric and his band. He didn’t even tell his record label what it was; According to Record Archive co-owner Alayna Alderman, he told them it as a Christmas album.  But there was a person from Western New York who had a bit of insight into the album.

Western New York is one of the most beautiful places on earth in the fall in my opinion.  The leaves are incredible when they begin to change and this is proof.  I asked you to show me pictures on my facebook page of the leaves where you are and these are the photos that you sent in.  Thanks to everyone who contributed!

In week one, Aaron Williams intercepted Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck to seal a win for the Buffalo Bills.  After that interception, Williams paid tribute to former teammate Fred Jackson with his signature touchdown celebration.  In week two, Fred paid him back with a tribute of his own.

I'm sure by now you've heard about the terrible accident that affected Dillon Williams, his family, and really the entire town of Eden.  Now, there's a way to help out.  There's a town wide music festival taking place in the village of Hamburg to help raise money for the family.

Water Recall
A voluntary recall has been issued for 14 brands of water.  They are all bottled through the same bottling company, and the recall was issued after one of their spring water sources tested positive for E. Coli bacteria.  Some of the brands are sold here in Western New York.

As parents, we want the best for our kids. That means from the food they eat to the schools they attend. Since we had our kids, my wife and I have moved three times.  Every time we've moved the school district that we moved to was always a factor.  That's why lists like this come in handy. Business First has once again ranked Western New York Schools.
