The Grammy Awards are this Sunday night and one of our Taste of Country stars, Chris Young is nominated for his first Grammy Award for “Best Male Country Vocal” Performance for “Gettin’ You Home”.  The song was Chris’ first number hit which also became his first RIAA Gold Digital single.  In a recent press release, Chris said “It feels overwhelming to think that I’ve been nominated for a Grammy.  This is the type of thing an artist strives for his whole career”.  Chris may be attending the as a nominee but his first appearance at the awards actually came quite some time ago, he attended when he was a kid as part of the Grammy jazz choir. He was one of six kids picked to perform that year.

Chris caught his first professional break on the CMT show “Nashville Star” when he won the title in May of 2006.  I was rooting for Chris from day one and I am so exciting for his success.  The WYRK Taste of Country is Friday June 3rd with Josh Turner, Easton Corbin, Chuck Wicks and Josh Thompson.  Get your tickets at tickets.com  The Grammy’s are on CBS this Sunday night, I hope Chris wins!
