Superstar Taylor Swift doesn't even need to audition to be offered a part in a movie ... which is exactly what happened with her upcoming part as Rosemary in 'The Giver.'

When the 'Red' singer performed a stint in Los Angeles on her 2013 Red Tour recently, a few Hollywood movie executives just so happened to be in the crowd.

"Actually, the movie actually came about very unexpectedly," Swift tells ABC News Radio of how she got the gig (quote via Country Weekly). "When I played my shows in L.A., I was unaware that people from this movie were in the audience, and I had a role offered to me the next week."

Swift says it must have been her emotional performance that caught the eye of the folks working on the 'The Giver.'

"I think my shows tend to be very emotional and moody and they saw something they needed in that role," the starlet says. "So, I'm very honored and lucky to get to be a part of it, and we'll see how it goes. Please wish me luck."

We're sure fans everywhere are wishing Swift the very best for her role alongside Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges and Katie Holmes. The movie, based on the novel by Lois Lowry, is currently filming in South Africa.
