Up to the start of March our Buffalo winter has been fairly mild.  In fact, February was one of the warmest on record for Buffalo.  That trend certainly changed this March and according to the Buffalo National Weather Service March temperatures will remain cold.

I was perfectly happy with the mild winter we were having but I guess it's time to pay the piper and endure some cold days with snow and freezing likely in some parts of Western New York as well.  Today (3/23) The National Weather Service in Buffalo issued a Winter Weather Advisory for southern and eastern Allegany County from 5:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday. freezing rain and sleet are possible with trace to one tenth of an inch of ice are possible.

The Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect for southern Livingston, Ontario, Wayne and northern Cayuga counties.
