Polish traditions run deep here in Buffalo. You may have heard me say before that one in every three people in Buffalo has a Polish connection. My Polish connection is my wife Debbie. Being married to her has exposed me to delicious Polish food thanks to my mother in law.

One of the tasty Polish treats I really love is Pierogi. Pierogi are dumplings of unleavened dough which are first boiled, then they are baked or fried usually in butter with onions. There are many different varieties of Pierogi. You can stuff them with potato filling, sauerkraut, ground meat, cheese, or fruit.

Since my mother in law is to shy to make a video and tell you her secrets of Pierogi making, I found this video of Lottie Pikuzinski from the R & L Lounge (near the Broadway market) who shows us the fine art of Pierogi making. There is nothing like good Polish food to satisfy your soul.
